Where did the time go? Inspired by wildlife around me.
This is the first time that I have ever written a blog. Oh, I have written stories but this will be published online. Gads. In the effort of getting myself out there more with me and my artwork, this will become part of my website. That, too, is in the works. The list is long to get it done. The idea of my doing it on own is now laughable, considering what is now expected of me.
For those who don’t know me, I live in southern Ontario, Canada with four cats. I am soon, probably after this is posted, to turn 65. It is hard to imagine that I am that old. Where did the time go? But, in truth, it is life. We get involved in our lives and before we know it, the years are gone.
My art career officially began in 2015. Before that, I was always creative. I am attuned to nature, to the cycle of the seasons, birds, animals, the sun and the moon. I have been followed by coyotes, guided by hawks and eagles. I never thought of painting them, though, until 2018 when a friend asked me to paint an owl for this daughter. I was shocked. I had never attempted a owl before. In true Susan fashion, I immersed myself in that challenge. Imagine my shock when I discovered that I was good at it. Each time I painted an animal or a bird, it got better.
